Growth In Local Social Spending

Social networks offer your brand a great way to create a loyal customer base and expand your area of influence.  But just putting a social page together and hoping for the best is not necessarily a sound strategy. A new report is showing how much money local companies are spending on social advertising.

• Social spending by local companies is expected to reach $1.2 billion this year

• By 2014, spending is projected to grow 66% to $2 billion

• In 2016, it is estimated to reach $3.1 billion

• The majority of social ad spending is anticipated to be on display advertising but non-display advertising is expected to see an annual growth rate of35% from 2011 to 2016
