The summer travel season is rapidly approaching. Before you know it, kids will be out of school and adults will be turning in vacation requests. Just as the mercury beings to rise, a new report is out detailing mobile’s impact on the digital travel sales.
• Mobile travel bookings are expected to jump 25% this year. In 2011, 12 million Americans booked travel via mobile devices. In 2012, that number is estimated to reach 16 million consumers
• By 2016, the number of people booking travel on mobile devices is predicted to rise to nearly 37 million consumers. More than double this year’s estimate
• Mobile travel research is also expected to jump. This year nearly 38 million consumers are estimated to research travel on a mobile device. By 2016, it is forecast that over 74 million people will mobile-ly research travel.
• Total online travel spending in 2016 is predicted to be over $151 billion.

Being located in Central Florida, travel is an important category. But you don’t have to be located in a vacation destination or a tourist related business to benefit from travelers.
